Support

Being a student can be a very exciting time, bringing many changes and challenges. SANITI offers support and advocacy to all students for any issue relating to being a student and studying. Support can be anything from being an ear to listen to your concerns, helping you find a job, right through to helping you with any issues you may have with your studies and receiving assistance with your loans, and so on.

SANITI has a Student President, an Advocate and helpful staff who are available to support students with any issue large or small.

Our support is:

Independent - While SANITI has strong communication links to NMIT, is a totally separate entity. 

Knowledgable - We are familiar with the various organizations connected to studying at NMIT. We know much about their systems and always aim for a quick and low level resolution to any issue.

Confidential - Your privacy is held in the highest regard and will never be compromised.

Experienced - We deal with issues large and small on a daily basis.

Available - SANITI is ready to help you either in person, over the phone or via email.

What is Advocacy?

One of the most important services SANITI provides is advocacy. Advocacy is when another person provides advice and support, helping students deal with a problem and assisting them follow the correct procedure to reach a solution.

Generally the SANITI advocate will outline the best way to resolve an issue. They will provide one-on-one support and assistance, such as attending meetings with you, and do their best to reach the best solution for you.

Marlborough Campus

The Student President makes regular visits to the Marlborough campus. Meetings can be arranged by contacting the President before hand.

Flight Schools

SANITI has a Distant Campus Manager who can assist in dealing with any concerns you may have.

Programme Representatives

SANITI can also be contacted through our student representation system. Most course have a student who can be contacted and assist other students get support, advocacy and representation. Ask your tutor if you are unsure of who your Programme Representative is.
